I got my Japanese DS games in the mail today! I don't understand a lot of them, but I got half of the stuff right so I'm going to study super hard until I can do the JLPT 4. I'm so happy about that, which is good, cause I have the sunburn from hell and am going to the Tennessee State Fair this weekend. I'm hoping the sunburn is down by then, but yay, studying my kanji now! I'm going to become super fluent, because it's one of my highest goals right now.

Tennessee Titans VS Jacksonville Jaguars
The game is today, and my hair came out a great shade of blue (will post pictures later), and the weather is wonderful. Still sick and in pain but hopefully the game will take my attention off of it, since we have really awesome seats and I have my brand new camera, though I'm sure I don't need more pictures to web obtimize and upload, since I've had so many events lately. I'm backlogged by about 2000 photos actually, and my new camera has a 40 gb harddrive. >_< Oh well, YG (the new company is coming along, although I haven't had a lot of time to work on it because of parents being off this week and they don't see online business as being 'real' work, along with programming and all those other silly computer related things...

Ebay Issues
I am really tired of studying Japanese with just books and cds and such... Have been waiting forever on some DS Kanji games to arrive despite paying for EMS service so they'd be here in five days. This, after having to wait two months, then realize the eBay seller ripped me off, and file for a refund from PayPal, which I used to get these from a seller with 100% positive feedback. Is anyone else having problems like these? I've never had problems recieving items from eBay auctions until the past two months, and only from Japan, when normally I see the lower feedback for dealers in China. Sigh... Hope they get here Monday so I can study.
Antique Cars
Got more pictures of antique cars at what they call an event out in the country today. Mostly good ole' boys sitting in a parking lot. They gave out free hot dogs at a car parts place, and drinks, but there weren't chairs or activities... Met a kid my son's age who I think said (could barely understand the southern accent) that he's killed a duck, a deer, and a cobra already. Dunno...
SO EXCITED ABOUT THE TITANS VS JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS GAME TOMORROW!!! We have front row seats~

Still Sick
But I decided which blogging software I like best, even if they dont' have a plug-in I'd really like because they are easily customizable, much less of a pain to install than Movable Type, and have plenty of plug-ins that are very useful. Plus the sidebar automatically shows up on each individual posts, which is good for those plugins, but the event ones are quite extensive if you take the time to download and upload them, so I'm going with Serendipity on my new site, which is the software I'm using on this one.

FTP Finally!
Okay, I finally have root / admin ftp access on my other host and domains~
This is making my work go much faster on the new sites, thank Ra. I thought I was never going to get anything installed... AND I got my new camera, which is soooo, soooo sweet. 40 GB hard drive, 40x optical zoom, and an extra battery... I am so set to get out in the field and go at it with my photography and video skills!
Going to the Jacksonville / Titans game on Sunday, which is going to be awesome, and I have an awesome camera for it! We're going to take you down again, Jacksonville! Yay, Titans~

Finally got into FTP, except...
It doesn't show any of the subfolders or anything!!!! WTF??? So I'm basically recreating everything because it's easier to do that via FTP rather than do what I spent 6 hours doing, uploading 2,077 files into various folders and subfolders. And since it won't let me delete a lot of stuff from the web interface, I'm hoping that if I create new folders with those names, I can go in and delete them via the web, since they should overwrite the existing ones.

Another Problem With Globat Hosting.
The FTP only allows you to go to a users directory, and it fails every time that you try to copy it over to the main parts, even if you chose copy instead of move. Therefore, I cannot install things that I am trying to install without making every folder myself, and uploading single files into each through the web interface, which is really going to suck since one of the installs I'm trying to do right now contains nearly 2,000 files in different folders and subfolders. Killlllll me, please. I've been trying to do ONE thing for four days that should have taken ten minutes with ftp, and it still isn't even started because of these errors.

A Vote, Please
So, opinions (you can text me or e-mail... Because of spam, I generally don't allow commenting or trackbacks to this blog) on something:
What do you think is the best free blogging software to install on your domain, what features does it have, and why? Linux hosting only, please. Some examples (these are ones I'm currently using in different sites) are Serendipity, WordPress, and B2Evolution. If you know of some other ones, let me know if they're any good. Thanks!

Musings.
How difficult can it be to talk to your own family about serious issues and your relationship? It seems like I'm frozen in this state of non-communication, and it hurts. I have a degree in psychology so this shouldn't be so difficult, right? I don't even communicate very well online, honestly. I'm half-seeing someone I care about, but it's a long distance relationship, and I suck at those. I don't know much about showing affection, because it's been withheld from me for so long. And I watch Evangelion, and I know I'm Shinji, and he's so pathetic. I want a normal life... I'm starting another site that is politics and business conspiracies only, and have a HUGE project in the works that is gonna totally rock, but is taking a lot of time. I have no life at the moment...
Soooo sick.
The days merely creep
when one is deep
in wells of pain and fear
but will not shed a tear
for a brighter day will come
with another one.

Domain Purchasing - Avoid Globat
Okay, do not use domains are free for domain purchases, or globat, because they won't give it to you. I registered one there that went through just fine. Then I registered one a week ago, and still haven't gotten it, and they have a gaudy pastel link farm up instead. It's worth paying the extra money to go with GoDaddy or someone else, even though I do like Globat's hosting package. So annoyed. Anyhow I have two new domains, but not the one Globat stole...
New Ventures
I had hoped for more of my new site to be up by now, but because of the severe pain I'm in and not being able to hook up my external drive, I've only got two blogs, a shop, and a forum installed without any content at this time. I am working on it daily, though. Just concerned I may need another surgery, and it's very miserable to be in this condition. I need a ride to the store to get my meds, if anyone can offer one...

Technology annoys me sometimes.
So I have this spiffy new server and two new domains, with a lot of stuff to be launched on it, and there are issues, or else the site would have gone live today. And I want this resolved, like, NOW. Because it has 1.5 terabytes of storage, 1.2 terabytes of bandwidth, along with tons of software already installed by me today, including a gallery, a shopping cart, another blog, and a bulletin board.
I'm going to go wallow in frustration now. Plus I've been in pain for so many days and unable to move because of my back, and I need something to distract me. I got hypnotized by Blaine and have it on DVD, btw, if you want to see once the site is working properly. It's a DNS issue, which was supposed to have been fixed 7 hours ago.

Value - Poem (c) Colleen Haddock
99cents on any block
in this slum world
abused, forgotten
just one of those girls
you see and want to collect
like a cheap gashapon figure
from a machine you pass by
later relegated to the back of your mind
never asking, why the eyes so haunted
why the fear of speaking up
why the attitude of a disgraced
and beaten soldier
fighting a daily war
with no hope of leave
or of returning home
a home she never had
a survivor, scarred, damaged, worthless
too aware
too on guard
too unable to get close
to a future once promised
never delivered

Wilson County Fair.
They are still discriminating against non-Christians, and I alerted the news, but I did get Gryphon to try some new rides he'd been afraid of, and as usual, he ended up loving them and they're his favorites now. ^_^ So maybe he'll start trusting my opinion. Also, was hypnotized by Blaine, and I got the DVD, so I'll upload some clips, but I have about 400 pictures and video to go through from the fair first. o_O
New hosting service has 1.5 terabytes, so yes, I will finally be media-friendly for my site.

Technorati
Freeware Mission
As most of you know, I'm a linux and open source, enthusiast, and have been encouraging people in that direction for years, since most programs you spend hundreds of dollars on you can find a replacement program which does the same thing for free or at least very much cheaper. So I'm really impressed by this person's decision to install only freeware on their computer, rather than pay outrageous prices. I'm looking forward to seeing what is installed, what the GPL's on them are, and how they work out. More people should at least try this, if not just to save money, to send a message that we support opensource developers.
For example, I have Gimp and OpenOffice, and the shareware programs I do use I'm willing to pay to get the extra features, which doesn't leave the developers out in the cold. Check out this blog to keep up with the progress of the project - Can't hurt you to find out some new programs as well.
